I need to wax (bikini area) before spring... and I'm really afraid. Is there anything to numb the skin, or a good way to get rid of the hair without the pain? Thank you.

No, not really. It is something that you get used to though. I get a brazilian wax every 4-5 weeks and it gets less painful everytime. When she is waxing me she uses a TON of baby powder, I guess it soothes the burn when she rips the strip off. It seems to help.

It isnt that bad, I promise, and the results are 100 times better than shaving.

Good luck

If you want to give waxing a shot there are a couple of things you can do to ease the pain: take advil about 30 minutes prior to your appointment, drink a lot of water, do it at a time when you are farthest away from having your period (if you are close or on your period it can make it more painful) or there is a cream you can buy called No Scream, it basically numbs your skin so it doesn't hurt nearly as bad.
Or if you want to see if there is any other way than waxing I use Sally Hansen's Extra Strength Creme Hair Remover For Bikini Line. You can use it on your entire private area just be really careful and use a timer.
I personally wax when I can afford it, but when I am short on cash I use the cream. Either way, it works great and my boyfriend is very happy *wink* Good luck!

Try Nair, but be sure it's the one for the bikini area. If you're going to wax, it's going to hurt. Period. Speaking of which, don't do it when you're on your period, wait til right afterwards because that's when there's less hormones and I've heard that makes you less susceptible to pain. Just to let you know from experience though, it hurts like a sonofamonkeysuncle. Really. It feels like you're ripping your soul out through your skin. Try going to a professional. They'll do it right.

Ahhh, no pain, no gain! You can try one of the over-the-counter chemical hair removal products but you run the risk of a rash and sometimes they don't work. If you've never tried waxing before go to a professional. They do it really quick and the pain last seconds, not minutes.

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.
