Well Michael, first you actually have to love them. Then there will be all kinds of feelings you have with them, about them and around them... You will want to do stuff for them... you will care how they feel... you will care generally about their life and how it's going for them... And you will have a genuine desire to "be there for them".... This stuff is commonly referred to as "commitment" in a relationship.

If you want someone to know you love them, the best way is to simply tell them. Sure gifts and kisses and things are nice, but "I love you" are three of the most powerful words out there. It's always nice to hear. :)

I think by being there when the chips are down (and when they are at their worst). Going through hard times really lets you know who loves ya..and who...not so much.

support them in every way possible even when you dont agree with what their doing. Allow them to be themselves. Accept them for who they are. be there for the good, the bad.. and the ugly. Believe in them..their goals..dreams...ambitions..etc. Believe in them when they dont belive in themselves. Be there to laugh...love ....share....etc.
