Can a merchant charge your credit card but delay processing your order?
I placed an order a number of days ago through EBGames with overnight shipping, I have yet to receive my package. The sights saids usually ships in 24 hours. But my card was charged days ago and the order still has not been processed. So I called them up and they are trying to tell me it takes up to 72 hours to process my order because the shipping and billing addresses differ. I have never heard of this. They said they got to call and verify, yet I was on the phone with them and they had already billed me for the items that are in stock.
I was under the impression you cannot bill a customer like this with a credit card until your actually processing the order.

This could be a Christmas season ploy (i.e. very busy processing orders). Unless you work with the company, it is hard to tell if this is true or not. Go with the first recommendation of contacting some sort of customer service head, then try to cancel the order. Usually companies do not charge your card until the item is ready to ship (within one day) or had shipped.

They CAN bill you under the guise that the item was out of stock, but that they still shipped it overnight once it came back into stock. Your best bet is to call EBGames and cancel the order. If they won't cancel it, threaten to do a charge back/dispute through your credit card company, for which you'll have little or no liability (if they find you at fault, you'll be liable for the most $50).

In 7 out of 7 charge backs I've done, I've never had to pay and I've always gotten my money back. Another good point to add is that you don't have to pay for charges that are currently in dispute.

You're better off ordering through another vendor.

No. However, it may have been shipped but it may not be overnight to do the holiday season Fedex and UPS suspend the guarantee service. Normally you can get a refund from the shipping company but not during the holiday season.

If they have not processed your order in a satisfactory manner call and complain to a manager, if this does not satisfy your needs then withdraw your order, get a refund and call a competitor for business.

first of all, in case you used a mastercard, whoesever mastercard that is, will recieve the bill for even with you ordered and/or offered, although, in case you position your mom and father deal with down as position of shipment then the product will bypass to them, mastercard organizations will fee the owner of the cardboard for any and all purchases made on that card, you may have a product shipped to you and the costs and or bill shipped to the owner of the mastercard. yet when the mastercard is on your call and including your mom and father deal with because the billing deal with, except you requested your offered product to bypass to a distinct deal with this is going to bypass for your mom and father deal with.

It will be shipped. Don't worry about it. If you aren't floating money this shouldn't matter.
