I have been struggling w/ this same question for some time now myself. Jesus DID keep the holy days AND feast days. Where did we get off track as Christians? If Jesus did then should we not also? I would like to visit a congregation that shares these beliefs but there are none close to me. We as Christians need to seriously reevaluate where we are.

Be Blessed!

P.S.
Thanks for the site...
I checked out cogi website and found it very helpful. i am also browsing yaim site. they both seem to have similar views. yaim is a bit more messianic.

I try to, but the generation above me, my father and mother came from a strong catholic background, so their observance has been greater, and there parents even greater. I usually view Sundays as a day of rest as do even pagan society I suppose. My mother tells me of how when she was a kid on Good Friday, they had to be quiet until the late afternoon....was respect for Jesus having died on the cross. See if anyone is quiet today....there is a big difference in how Holy Days are currently observed as compared to yesteryear. But anyway....I suspect there is stil a high number of people who observe the Holy Days, but just not the same way.

There are many things that the Christian church does differently than we did from Jesus's time. Jesus was about change for the better. He taught his followers a better way than the Jewish traditions. The Christian church has evolved over the centuries and learned better ways to do things.

Now, I'm not arguing against having a Sabbath day during the week. I think that's a wonderful way to be faithful. Still, Church tradition moved the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday, and that's not a huge theological problem for me.

I imagine that the more orthodox Jews do.

But if you're talking about the Christian holy days and Sabbath - Jesus wasn't a Christian and therefore he wouldn't have followed their Holy Days, and his Sabbath would have been on Saturday, not Sunday.

Traditional Catholics observe all the Holy Days that Jesus Himself instituted!

I think those who believe Jesus, a Jew, would want his followers to observe the holy days as he did should do so, but that shouldn't mean that everyone else must.

"Therefore let no one act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day- things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ."(Colossians 2:16,17) Somehow I think these things are not as important as our love for God and fellow man. Even Jesus broke the legal Sabbath.

No we aren't. Read the book of Galatians. Jesus' death on the cross freed us from the Law of Moses.

2 Corinthians 3:6 (NIV)
He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
