give him a lot of water and meat...
How many did you feed it? I am sure if it was a small serving the dog will live.

I understand you don't want to drive the hour.. but you NEED too.. Now some dogs can tolerate toxic foods better than others.. but there's no way to know that until after the fact.. If you care about this dog, and your boyfriend, you need to atleast call the vet and ask them what you should do.. Any vet will take him if he's ill.. and it doesn't matter if he's not your dog.. the vet will understand that.. You better atleast make some phone calls.

Call your veterinarian or a 24-hour emergency hotline such as:
ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (APCC) 1-888-426-4435 or 1-888-4-ANI-HELP
National Animal Poison Control Center (NAPPC) 1-900-680-0000 or 1-800-548-2423

Paw Rescue recommends that you induce vomiting only if the dog ingested non-caustic or non-corrosive material, such as human medications, antifreeze or rat poison. "A three percent hydrogen peroxide solution can be used to induce. Do not use salt. Hydrogen peroxide fizzles in the stomach and triggers an upset; it is suggested to use one teaspoon per 5 pounds to a maximum of 3 to 4 tablespoons"

If he hasn't shown symptoms yet, depending on how long ago "yet" is between when you fed them to him, he probably won't. Be careful feeding table-oriented things to any dog--especially little ones. Their systems are delicate, although not as delicate as cats, and they could have serious problems. I had a beagle dog one time. A beagle will eat almost ANYTHING. We gave him a steak or chicken bone ( I can't remember which one because it was a long time ago.). He got it hung vertically in his throat. It took a neighbor with a sheet to put over him so he couldn't see (although he was a gentle dog, he became violent out of fear.). He and my dad had to take pliars to get the bone out. It taught us a lesson, and we never gave he nor his friend that we had who was also a beagle any more bones. Be careful next time and in the future, ok.? Give the little thing my love.

Call the vet at once!!! If they are closed they will have an emergency vet number listed. You are talking about possibly killing a little dog. Do what you can to help him. Call a vet!!! Call you bf and tell him what happened.

Call the vet and ask for advice. My dog (mini dachshund) some onions out of the trash can once and ate them and nothing happened to him from it. Good Luck!

i have fed onions to my dog before and it did not affect him. Call the vet to be on the safe side. Just ask them if it will hurt the kind of dog y'all have.

Grant it my dog is bigger, about 75lbs, hes eaten onions since he was a pup he'd dig them out of the garden and hes never had any type of reaction to them. You should be able to just call and ask the vet most likely they would just flush his system anyway.

Onions don't cause an acute poisoning in dogs. If given over time, they will cause anemia. DogAge.com is a good site for finding out which foods are toxic to dogs.

well i costs about $200 for cremation and disposal of a canine, but he may just filter them trough his asss. Besides, most of the time it won't kill the dog, it just makes them anemic. That is really expensive and tortuous to the dog though. Good luck, he's gonna be pissed.
