OK!! I'm 13 and there's this guy I like (our moms work togehter) and he's really quite and he never talks to me. How do I start a conversation without sounding stupid. Please help!

You just start off by asking him "how are you doing today or how is your day going so far?" Just take your time and go easy on him at first...Good luck.

Okay, so you like him, you must know something about him, right? Start a conversation about anything you have in common (school subjects, moms, the holidays, anything will do).
How do you avoid sounding stupid? By not worrying about sounding stupid. When you worry about how you sound, you tense up, which almost guarantees you'll trip over your tongue.
Let's face it - he wants to talk, or he doesn't. He's interested, or he's not. If he doesn't, or isn't, then why worry about what he thinks? If he wants to, or is, then why not give him an opening to get to know you better?
Keep it simple. If you don't go to the same school, ask him about where he goes to school, what it's like. Ask him about the holidays and how much they decorate (or don't). Tell him you like (whatever name) band and ask him which bands he likes. Most people want to be thought of as interesting, so ask questions, listen to the answers, and the rest of the conversation will come to you.
"My mom is totally going nuts trying to get ready for Christmas. We got our tree weeks ago (or we don't even have it yet). Do you guys get a live tree, or an artificial one?"
Or whatever. See, it's not that hard -- and if you don't get a good response from him, there can be lots of reasons, most of which have nothing to do with you (like he's stressed over his homework), so don't sweat it! Good luck!

First start with your name, then say, " and you are?...."
Just bring up a conversation with him. Whats his favorite football (you know sports!) If that doesn't work just be herself and see if he likes the samethings you do, become friends first that might be the best way to look at things better. Then slowly start to give the signs. If he doesn't know that you like him then just say it, but don't get your hopes up if he doesn't "feel" the same way.
