Although I am black, my parents would filp out if I brought home a colored boy to dinner. For some reason they look at that as almost "interracial" dating. They want me to be with a white or asian guy. What should I do? He's nice and he has a job.

If you like him, then you should have the right to date whomever you wish. Just don't take him home to your parents until you're absolutely sure that your relationship is strong enough to endure criticism from your parents. Granted, most people prefer to appease their parents and family, but you have to make sure that you are happy first. It might pay to ask your parents why they feel the way that they do. Understanding their position may make it easier for you to discuss with them how you feel about the guy you're dating. If they know the good things about him, then maybe they'll be more accepting of him when you do bring him home for a visit.

Who cares what they think about his skin color. If he is good to you and cares for you bring him home and tell them that he is good to you and cares fro you. That's all any parent should want for their kids.
