If you had to invent a new way to make toast, how would you do it?

I would make a simple screen on "legs" that fits across and over the burner of any ordinary stove.
Toast is yummy

Hmmm...I once did most of my cooking using a coffee maker (warming up soup on the burner, or using water warmed in the coffee maker for ramen or dried soups, etc., or putting vegetables in to steam as the water came down on them). Although I never tried it, I suppose you could lay bread on the burner to be toasted, too.

Or i you're not concerned about actually EATING your toast, you can get creative with a blowtorch!
