I don't know about you, but telling people they're going to hell seems pretty cruel to me.

I was a Christian for the first 18 years of my life. I know what your beliefs are. Simply put, your beliefs don't make any sense, whatsoever. Not only that, the things that you all seem to espouse (no sex before marriage, no drugs/alcohol, no homosexual relations), seem to be the very things you're doing behind closed doors (see Haggard for an exmaple).
You know what I'd like to see? Christians to stop complaining they're being persecuted. The rest of us don't believe in your fairy tales, so therefore we do not see a reason to blindly follow what you follow. When it comes to political issues, we don't blindly accept that gays just "should not be allowed to marry 'cause the Bible says so." We actually think for ourselves about what's wrong and what's right.
We do not enjoy being harassed with pamphlets and flyers asking us if we'd like to come out to your church gathering, or if we're 'saved' or not.
Sarcasm and cruelty is a last bastion of those fed up with your never ending stream of pablum. You certainly won't listen to reason. Facts don't seem to faze you one bit. An emotional appeal about your intelligence is about all some of us can muster some days.

It is conviction. They are convicted and they take that out on us by being sarcastic- they do not want to believe, or give up their sin...so they make fun of the truth...when in reality they know deep down, there is a God! But they are blinded. The bible tells us that many are blind to the truth and they will believe whatever suits their own passions...instead of believe the word of God. I know it is sad...but remember that Jesus told us the world would hate us because it hated Him... All I can say to you is what it says in 1 Peter 4:13- and I love this verse:
"Rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when His glory is revealed"

"I take time to understand thier beliefs, seriously, but you can't take time to understand mine?" We understand it. I was raised to believe in "god". Many of us just find a religion that spreads fear and intolerance to be offensive.
And in my experience, xians don't take the time to learn about other beliefs aside from saying that they're the work of the devil and going to hell. In fact, most xians I've spoken to know less about their bible and the origins of their own religion than I do.

Maybe they believe their the only real human beings and everyone else are heathens, that would explain why they treat anyone who doesn't agree with them different

Telling people their religion is false and spreading lies about their religion is pretty cruel, too.
