I am a former high school and college swimmer. I used to be very fit. However after having a child and sustaining two shoulder injuries resulting in two surgeries..I'm not in the shape I want to be. I need some advice on a workout program (preferably for optimum wegiht loss), I cannot bear weight on my right arm as of right now. Thanks! :)

I would say either join a gym and get the expert advice they offer via the trainers or see a physiotherapist and get expert advice that way, good luck on getting back into shape...;

well i suggest you do a lot of cardio. treadmill is best because while you are walking on it you can squeeze your butt cheeks and this will make the booty tighter, build muscle in that area and reduce fat. also do army sit-ups. start with 10 reps and 3 sets (which means you do 10 sit-ups rest for 15 seconds then do another 10 rest then another). you can also do squats. and lift weights for your lower body. and for your upper body do light weights like 20lbs and under. as far as your diet. start taking some multi-vitamins. GNC sells a liquid multi-vitamin for like $30(that sounds pricey but the bottle is huge considering that you only need a tablespoon a day, it should last you like 3 mths.), Also take a liquid B- Complex, from GNC this cost around 8$, it will give you a lot of energy. And only eat starches (breads, pastas, rices, pancakes, cake, waffles, etc) in the morning after 12 noon only eat meat and veggies. you can have some fruit in the afternoon also but YOU MUST DO CARDIO. Also take your weight divide that by 2 and that is the amount of oz. of water you should be drinking. Oh and Drink a glass (8 oz.) of fat free milk everyday, this will add elasticity back into your skin and as you lose weight your skin will automatically tighten back up (as long as its not too stretched out). Hope all of this helps.

I would start with cardio, like biking, or jogging. I have had extensive knee surgery but it has not stopped my workout program only changed it. I have learned to work around the injury, I am stuck with the bike and swimming for cardio and then I do weights but avoid stress to the knee. Swimming is an excellent workout not to mention very beneficial to an injured joint. It helps build strength with out the stress.
You can still do a good cardio workout and weights with your lower body. Ab workouts are very crucial.

well then workout ur legs until u can work out ur arms then start out with light wieght until u think ur shoulders r strong enough then try adding more wieght also be sure 2 use dumb bells not a bar bell 2 b sure that both of ur arms r just as strong or else ur weak r will start 2 become dpendent on ur other arm and only that strong arm will become stronger... believe me i made that mistake... and try working out ur whole body don't try 2 relie on like just ur arms or legs try doing whle body exersices... hope i helped.

My advise is to talk to a professional trainer.
