I wanted to find out if it is wrong to be too emotional over even the littlest thing. Is that a trait, a postive one or negative one .what do you think and what can someone do not to take everything too seriously.

God Bless you for not losing your sensitivity to others...something that is rare in this day and age...it is the me me me generation,...and people are usually this way because it is their makeup...don't let anyone change you...the right person will come along and appreciate it truly...Try not to let things get to you by trying to be rational...even if it upsets you at first, try to think it over before you respond.

It depends on what you mean about being too emotional over the littlest thing and have you been this way all of your life or did it start at a certain time. It can be positive sometimes, negative another. You need to talk with a mental health specialist. Check in your phone book for some clinics or individuals.

Wow, Jeannie. I have been wondering the same thing. I take things very seriously and try to find the humor in things, but often times I can't. I hate seeing people be made fun of. I hate seeing people angry. People have called me a "people pleaser" at times, and I still can't figure out whether it's a bad or good quality. The way I see it is that at the end of the day, I am going to be able to look in the mirror and know that I tried doing everything I possibly could to make someone smile. Also, I tend to think of my feelings as unimportant whereas I place too much emphasis on everyone else's feelings. My girlfriend sometimes talks to me like I'm an idiot, which hurts me, but I never say anything to her. I love her and her daughter. Most of the time, she is good to me, but she knows that I am a huge pushover and sometimes takes advantage of it. I do everything I can to make her happy. I just bought her a new TV. I take her garbage out, buy her gifts, do her laundry, clean her house, take her everywhere she needs to go, buy gifts for her daughter, and many other things. Every weekend I drive her 90 miles to pick up her daughter from her dad's house. I just pour my heart into everything I do, and sometimes I feel a little empty. In the end, however, she knows that I love her with all my heart and that is reward enough for me. We have a wonderful relationship. My advice to you is to keep being a caring person. Don't let anyone make you feel like your incompetent or stupid just because you are kind. In our society, people mistake kindness for foolishness. As far as being emotional, I don't cry over little things. I am a man! I can't do that!

Trust me, it's no disorder. I used to think things to death... I used to care a lot about everything. Really, it was just a tad bit of anxiety, and once I got rid of it I felt 100% fine again. Just relax! :)

I used to be very sympathetic 'til I saw no one gave a rats a** about me . Now if you suffer it's yours to suffer not mine . I've seen people with real problems like terminal cancer with good attitudes . So look up .

Relax, caring is fine, but not if its to the extent that you ignore your own needs it could be damaging to your health...;
