What about a pocket watch? You could have it engraved with something romantic. That would be old fashion.
Hope you find the perfect gift.

Is he into tools and stuff? Does he like fixing things around the house? A pocket knife is always a good idea - I got my husband a Swiss Army knife one year and he loved it. I got him a Leatherman once too - It looks like pliers but has other gadgets like a knife, etc attached to it. He loved that too.
I did send us on a vacation once. I set the whole thing up - even called his work and booked the time off with his boss without him knowing. He was so surprised when he opened the gift (it was a pail and shovel for sand with two plane tickets inside to go to Florida). He remembers it to this day as being the best gift ever.

does he like old movies or music, then you can get him that, maybe even something he and your son can enjoy since that makes him happy get them a baseball glove and ball so they can spend time together. Does he do work around the home or his car, then that may give you some more ideas, tools perhaps. Buying gifts can be hard even when you think you know someone or they just happen to have every thing they need

My dad will not wear anything but Carhardt jeans...shirts...jackets...etc. Its a "mans man" clothing line is what he says. lol. I have found the best thing to do when in doubt is a gift certificate. Some people say that gift certificates are unfeeling but I disagree. To me, it is just making sure that the person in question gets something he/she wants. Of course, time spent with family is the best gift you can give...especially if it is with your children so maybe think of your husband and son going on a trip themselves together...a bonding experience. Your husband is very lucky to have someone that cares enough to want to get him something special but nothing beats family. :) Good luck and Happy Holidays...

If he's into sports maybe get himand your son tickets for a team they like. Or maybe some equipment for them to play themselves in the yard.
As for a vaction maybe sort out a camping trip with the old father and son fishing etc.
Hope these help.

You mean he's a redneck-hick! Get him a rope, a giant cross, kerosene, and a lighter. Oh yeah don't forget the white sheets. Camping and hanging deadfruits in a tree sounds fun too. And a good 'ole sunday picnic too. (Do you know where the word picnic comes from?) Or just go with the pocket knife. (Note: lol Just a joke, don't take it personal)

A pocket knife sounds good. Also you can get him nice comfortable under clothes, like nice white cotton shorts and nice boxers/briefs. Let him buy you the vacation:) Happy Holidays!

Since he likes blue jeans, why not get him a couple of pairs of new Levi's?
See if you can find something to get him that he can do with your son -- a hobby kit, fishing gear, whatever he and your son would both like. I think that he'd really love something like that -- I would :)
Good luck.
