i want to make 1 picture from 3 pictures but the program says they are in different formats how can i do it????

Yeah, just open them by Photo Shop or Paint Shop Pro and they've got editing capability on each image, as far as I know there's no such program that would work like magic in smashing them together.

The difference stem from technical reasons, in short, one favours uncompressed quality over file size the other favours compressed file size over quality.

A JPG uses compression while a bitmap does not. You can easily convert from one to the other, I believe even Windows Paint does that.

I prefer Paint Shop Pro.. you can easily copy and paste into all pictures

irfan view will view most formats and allow you convert jpg to bmp or most other image formats.
and it's free.

Well like previously stated MS Paint does it easily. Also you can try GIMP which supports both file formats. http://www.gimp.org God Bless.
