It may be the result of a low potassium, calcium, magnesium or other minerals in the body. Or it may be caused by not warming up your muscles before exercise, or even poor blood flow. Go see your doctor...there are several other causes and more questions need to be asked of you.

Cheryl is totally right - you need a balance of magnesium, calcium, and potassium to make your muscles happy. Don't just start eating a pile of bananas because I have seen that cause kidney issues with someone in the past. Be balanced - leafy greens, kiwi or bananas, and dairy. Also you need to keep properly hydrated - dehydration can also cause muscle spasm. Stretch those muscles out too! Good luck!

I have heard it's from lack of potasium. Eat some bananas. I have heard some football teams have their players drink pickle juice to keep from cramping. I guess you can try that.

~Drink plenty of water, and potassium wouldn't hurt. If you continue having this problem, see a doctor, he may prescribe a muscle relaxer for you. I take muscle relaxers twice a day.
I have a link for you below, be sure and inform yourself.~
