Bannanas rice apples and tea BRAT diet helps with unsettled stomach aches

Because the stomach flu (not influenza) is caused by an inflammation of the stomach lining, I would not eat anything until the nausea and vomiting pass. You can try and stay hydrated by taking in clear fluids, like herb tea and chicken broth. Because stomach flu only lasts a couple days, you should be able to eat again soon, and fully rehydrated. Then add in broth-based soups, fresh juices & fruit, and lightly steamed vegetables.

Keep it very, very light. Chicken, beef or vegetable broth. Poached eggs if you think your stomach can handle it. Keep hydrated, sip it if it's the only way you can keep it down. When I was little I would get juice popsicles as a way to keep me hydrated. Saltine crackers are good.

I hope you feel better soon.

I find that light broths, such as Maggi chicken boullion, sometimes with a slightly beaten egg dribbled in are soothing and calming.

No dairy, nothing too strongly flavored.

Fried seafood and sauerkraut is RIGHT OUT!

Best wishes!

Bananas, plain saltines (extra salt is good when you're vomiting or having stomach problems because it balances your electrolytes), baked apples, white rice w/ some salt, tea (mint is especially good). Do not even think of drinking coffee or milk.

Toast, try eating some non-red jello cups (take small bites slowly). Keep sipping water. Drink non-red gatorade, too. (You don't want to consume anything red because it might come out looking like blood).

Simple chicken broth and unbuttered toast, especially if you are vomiting.
