I'm thinking they probably did. In fact, I'll bet that a bir riproarious fart brought about the first laugh. What else could have been funny back then? It's not like they could talk.

definately funny...then if they smelt they would get all grumpy and "grr" "argh" noise...and then walk out of the cave for fresh air
