a lab or a toy dog

depends on your situation. do you have a large yard? If you don't have a large enough space for a lab to run they will be a hyper terror. do you have any training experience? a lab will be too much to handle and too large if he isn't trained well. do you have children? will they be afraid of a bigger dog, or will they hurt a little dog. how much do you want to spend? a lab will eat alot more than a toy dog.

i personally love labs. I have a half lab/half bloodhoud (great combo) but she would be a nightmare if we didn't have 45 acres for her to run on. Just be sure to think it through, and get the history of the animal from the breeder to check for possible genetic problems. Best of luck to you!

Better for what? A lab needs lots of room to run and play in, is very smart so it needs to be challenged. A toy dog is nearly the opposite. Choosing one or the other would depend on if I live in a house with a big yard or in an apartment. Both want to spend time with a family and their master.

Depends on your personality and situation. Labs and Toy Dogs are both great. Labs are big, toys are small.

I would check into the health issues you might have with labs and then when you decide which toy breed you want also ckeck the health issues associated with that breed.

Depends. I like big dogs better, so i like labs. But if you have an area with limited space, then a toy dog would be better because labs need SO much excercise.

Depends - what do you want from a dog? Do you have small children? Toy dogs don't tend to do very well with really small kids - the dogs are so fragile and the child doesn't understand that. Have you gone to Purina.com? They have a little "quiz" you can take that will ask you what you expect from a dog, and then they give you breed suggestions based on your answers.

Labs are very loyal, excellent with children, and very sweet. We have 2 papillons - a toy breed - and they definitely love kids, but they are so tiny that I really watch them around children.

Good luck!

You gave no information on yourself, what you wanted the dog to be suited to do, where you live, where your dog will be staying, etc... I personally wouldn't pick either one of them, but it depends on what you do. If you want a gun dog, don't get a toy. If you want a companion, either is fine. If you live in a downtown apartment, get a toy. I personally have had a Boxer, Cocker, a Heeler mix, an American Bulldog and a Malamute. I have loved all of these dogs, but they each fit different aspects of my life differently. More information would help you get better answers.

I just got a lab so I would say lab or a larger dog. We live in a house and I wanted it so that I could go for walks and runs and stuff. I find that a larger dog (even a gental lab) can make me feel more protected at home when my fiance is out.

I like toy dogs. Simply because I grew up with cats and I'm a little sketchy around big dogs. I still love them though =D

The toy group especially terriers, unless you need a guard dog, then I'd go with the labradore.
