Capri, All these answers are good, but the one thing they don't account for is allergies. The main cause of piercings not healing is allergy to nickel in the metal of the piercing "ring" or "stud". Get a 24K Gold Filled loop or stud. (It works as well as solid gold but is cheaper.)The gold color lasts WAY longer than gold plate or vermeil. Get YELLOW gold NOT WHITE. White gold has nickel in it too.
After replacing the piercing ring or stud, use the alcohol or the peroxide and the shot glass method to soak it daily for 10 to 15 minutes, then apply the Neosporin to prevent the drying and cracking. Neosporin will also help prevent getting a scar over the pierced site.
Good Luck!

I wouldn't recommend alcohol, because it may dry it out, make it crack, and that can lead to infection. Go to a health food store and get sea salt. Mix a pinch into some water and soak the piercing with that. (if it's your belly button try putting it in a shot glass and flipping it over on your belly.) Neosporin is good, but make sure you use it w/ a Qtip and not your fingers, since your fingers will just transmit bacteria.

Depends on where it is and if it is a new piercing or not. When my daughter got her belly button done she cleaned it with saline solution. She recently got a part of her ear done and was told to clean it with sea salt. If it is an old piercing I would try peroxide like someone else suggested.
All else fails call your Dr.

the best way to heal a body piercing is to put peroxide on it and then put rubbing alcohol on it and then just do that until it heals fully

antibacterial soap without fragrance, sea salt solution (should taste like your tears), and rubbing alcohol around the outside to keep it clean and steril
DONT use neosporin, the goopyness of it traps anerobic bacteria and can make it worse

Clean it with alcohol to prevent infection and then put some neosporin ointment.
