Intense body itch?? What to do??
I have had diabetes for 25 years. I'm on the pump, in good control. Currently taking Humalog, Yasmin and Lexapro....(i have looked them up and not listed as a side effect or complications of each other) and for some good forsaken reason I have these very intense outbreaks for days on end where every little ounce/inch of my body itiches. I'm so miserable. Does anyone have a clue why this happens and or what I can do to help it. I have been using Aveno body wash and thick lotion. Thank you in advance.

Diabetes could be the reason. It's one of the problems of the disease. I am diabetic and have this same problem. I haven't found any relief. The itching comes from inside your body so, no skin product will work on this. Keeping your blood sugar under control will help. Ask an endrocinologist (Dr.) about this and if there is anything to do for it. Also, I have diabetic neuropathy and this too causes INTENSE itching that can drive you crazy! Best wishes.

Itching can be caused by insect bites like mosquito bites, heat rashes or allergic reactions. Aloe vera gel , apple cider vinegar or vitamin E oil can be effectively used on the affected skin.

sounds like neuropathy associated with diabetes, and you can have many varied neuropathies even tho well controlled. Talk to your doctor about taking Vistaril for the itch, it helps sometimes.

You might be having a reaction of some sort; it may also be something you are ingesting. Next time you speak to your doctor bring this issue up, he/she may be able to give you something to relieve the discomfort.
