Shops sell them just in boxes but are they full of peservatives? When would be the best time to make them?

yes they would last till xmas....i sell baked stuff here in my hometown and with proper packing they last long and i dont patronize the use of preservatives.Storing and packing prolongs their shelf life.

Freeze them as soon as they cool off and take them out a few hours before giving so that they can defrost in time to present.

They will generally last about a week if kept in an air tight container
