I'd like to lose 20-30 lbs in the next few months. I know I need to change my exercise and eatng habits and I've tried and failed in the past because I have no motivation to keep with a routine. Does anyone have any advice or tips that will help keep me motivated? One thing I'm thinking of is setting a goal above and beyond losing weight - like run a 5k on a specific date or something like that. I live in the Minneapolis area so I have a few very cold months ahead of me!

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you have to offer!

Join weight watchers. Or if the meeting thing is not for you get the CD or do it online. I lost over 22 lbs and have been able to keep it of for 5 years. It's not a diet, it's just a way of changing your eating habits to more healthy and sustainable ones. If you can't lose weight with weight watchers, you won't any way at all.

Good luck

I've got a new diet plan for you that can help you lose all the weight you need to, with no exercise required, and without driving you crazy with hunger in the process.
Sound interesting?
Try The Logic Diet.
This new plan was written by a guy from Cleveland, and he still lost weight during the cold winter months just as easily as during the summer, with no exercise!

I don't know how regimented you want to be. Weight Watchers is good, but here's the catch: You have to weigh and measure your food and attend group meetings that require a certain amount per week. If you miss a meeting, until you reach your goal weight, you have to pay for that week no matter what. After you reach goal, you are a lifetime member and the meetings are free. They offer very nutritional menus. If you decide to go the 5K route, get a complete physical before beginning. A gym is another good alternative.

Set goals for yourself like: fitting into a certain size dress, wearing a bikini at the beach or a belly shirt to a party. I think it take a made uop mind though. You can not force yourself to do something no matter how hard you try. You just need to keep active and stay strong. Also a good way to lose weight is to turn a activity you lie to do into exercise. For me this is dancing, vacuuming, and taking out the trash. YOU CAN DO IT GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well...I will be 36 weeks pregnant tomorrow (due date is 28 1/2 days away)....I am wanting to get down to 125 lbs/size 6 jeans. So, as soon as I have my baby... I will keep you motivated and, you can help keep me motivated....Sound good?
One thing I plan on doing as soon as the baby is born is do a complete make-over of the food I am eating, and feeding to my family. ...Take a look at my last question I asked (fill in the last 10 !?!) and see what foods I plan on buying my family...

The hard part is starting to see the results. It takes about three to four weeks to see significant results. Motivation is the hardest part just make it a scheduled part of your week, you wouldn't miss work so don't skip the gym. And as reward for that i pay myself on the weekend. on Friday I have pizza and beer night but that is only if I did everything I said i was going to do that week. You can do it but you have to find what works for you!! Good Luck

First of all get a treadmill if you can't afford one go to a thrift store or garage sale. Get exercise tapes from your local library and try not to weigh yourself every day that way you won't get discouraged.

While you are sitting home all day watching game shows and soap operas, ... when the commercials come on, do sit-ups.
