I think many of us know that man gives love to get sex while woman gives sex to gain love. So, you have to find out if he wants sex or wants love. Although many people do not differentiate between love and sex and they think they are interchangeable, I believe that they are different and even though love always leads to sex, sex does not always lead to love. However both are necessary for life to continue and pleasure/enjoyment to be achieved. Thus you can see what you both are aiming at so that you may not be hurt.

You know for sure that you love him. You gotta be sure that he feels the same way too. Be patient, let things happen naturally without forcing anything. Sometimes you want something right away then later regret that you should've waited. Give it some time to grow again.

if you feel you want him, never, never stop trying. if everything els you ever do is for other people, make love about yourself. do whats in your heart, its gonna be difficult but the rewards are worth it! hope this helps, cos i got a similair answer a while back, and it did wonders for me!
