he's so difficult to get to sleep at night, which makes it harder in the morning to get him up and going, cause as soon as i turn my head I find him lying on the floor sleeping.

I'm in the same boat. We are going to put our daughter in daycare two days a week to get her use to the enviroment. We were thinking of starting about six months before she starts school.

Call the preschool you plan to put him in and ask them what their routine is. Try to adjust him by putting him on that routine at home before school starts.

If he will have to be up at 7 and at school by 8 for breakfast-start that now, even if you normally sleep til 9 now.
If they have outdoor play time at 9 snacks and tv time at 10 lunch at 12 nap at 1--start doing those things at home now. At least that way he'll be adjusted to when to sleep and eat at school so he will enjoy it more if he's not hungry and tired.

Also, make sure to set up a bedtime routine and put jr. to bed in time for a good nights sleep.

Get him up at the same time. Develop good breakfast habits. Dressing/brushing teeth habits. He is just little. Sending him to preschool is an introduction to routine.
Don't rush him. Give him enough time to get ready and don't let yourself get rushed in the morning. Make sure it seems fun even when you don't feel like it.

Get him up at the same time every day, and get into a routine you like. Should he eat before he washes up? Do you need to start cooking before you wake him, or will he have cereal or something easy to prepare, that way you know how much time you need to get him around. Make sure his coat and shoes go in the same place everynight, so he knows where they go in the morning. Start about 2 or 3 weeks ahead of time, so you can sdjust in anyway you need to, and just stick to it!

My daughter who is 2 1\2, hates to get out of bed in the morning, it usually takes about 15-30Min's to get her out. She goes to kindy 2 days a week. I usually bribe her with watching TV, not all the time though. If you get them up and have breakfast with them, get dressed with them and brush your teeth with them, they will enjoy it and want to do it everyday. Good luck, it may be hard and first but it will get easier.
