What would be a good definition for it? Is this what people who like to chat with total strangers of the opposite sex on-line are doing? If you are in a serious relationship can this be grounds for a break up?

yes...because things get as serious as it does in person.it only feels better because u don't spend the amount of time that they do in person. u don't have time to mess up.and u will become addicted to their conversation.and eventually it will make u grow closer and closer

Yes there is a such thing called emotional cheating? All that emotional feelings (from the heart) is to be shared with your spouse, not some women or man you just meet a month ago or how ever long. Your cheating your spouse that part of you, when your spouse is suppose to have it. And that person is emotional cheating he or she is hurting the one there with. Actually a emotional affair is more hurtful then a phys cal one. A phys cal one you can walk away from much easy er because you have no feeling into it. A emotional one you do.

Yes, there is. You become attached to this other person w/out the stresses of having a serious relationship and ALL seems grand........ it's the same as cheating and it could be grounds for a break up (depending on the other person)

Believe some call it the ol' "Emotional Affair".

I don't personally think it's a deal breaker unless the relationship is super serious. As in marriage or engaged.

Some will most definitely disagree with me on that one I'm sure.

My point is that everyone flirts...as long as you're not actually physically DOING anything, it's alright.

"Emotional cheating" is a term that women made up to confuse the hell out of guys, and to make us feel guilty even when we haven't done anything wrong. It has no real meaning, and it's certainly not grounds for a break-up. It's more than anything a relationship power play that leaves its victims feeling sorry even when they are completely innocent.

Emotional cheating is bad. You connect with that person on a deeper level which forms bonds. If you think about someone else its cheating. So don't do it. There will always be someone smarter, nicer, more attractive, so what will you do then.

If your partner is communicating online in a "romantic way" then it is only a matter of time before he/she will take that fateful step outside the relationship and cause heartbreak.

I suggest that you talk to him/her and communicate that you are not willing to play second to cyberchat.

Stand your ground!

hi Izzy, Pop-psychologists, people who won't be able to make it as genuine psychologists and don't have theories that are universal via the medical community, have arise with the belief of emotional affairs. Why? it fairly is my feeling they do it as a manner to sell books, get time on television, seem as though they have valid theories while in actuality they're applying the PhD or PsyD to hawk their "snake drugs", and in essence make money. All you're able to do is inspect e_d_ellis2004 or Mr restoration It components to work out not one professional magazine or academic e book on the challenge is pronounced. quite each and all of the components menationed are media components like magazines. needless to say the belief of emotional affair is concentrated to the self-help team thereby calling into question the reliability and validity of this theory. As I understand this bogus theory no intercourse, no actual touch happens, yet they're tied emotionally to a diverse individual. Now the belief as I are conscious of it, does not differentiate between people you artwork with and those you meet outdoors of artwork alongside with on the internet. So while you're married, able of accountability, and artwork heavily with a somebody as a manner to furnish make money on your corporation you doubtlessly threat of being accused of having an emotional affair. in my opinion an emotional affair seems to be a brilliant money making scam for marriage therapists. Sorry for my rant this convey me on your question approximately your husband. for my section i don't think the belief yet your husband does. My beginning factor may well be to ask him to define the term and pay attention for the place it gets imprecise. What i may well be listening for does the definition relate to you working or does it relate on your cutting-edge artwork challenge? If it does then i might start up finding at your artwork challenge and look for info to contradicts it. on the different hand i may well be finding at advice on the thank you to further clarify your activity to him. could it not be touching directly to artwork it would desire to be an illustration there is an underlying courting alongside with him feeling ignored or you giving some time someplace else. it would desire to be that he's feeling overwhelmed due on your attentions being distracted on different issues. till you get to appreciate what's inflicting this, in my opinion, fake accusation you will not know the place it started and the thank you to restoration it.

emotional cheating happens when someone depends on, and confides his/her thoughts, feelings with someone other than his partner. It would be for example, if you get a raise and you call your guy friend before you call your partner.
it can definitely be grounds for a breakup.
