I am 5'3 and weigh 118 but last year I was so weight obsessed that I went down to 72 pounds and I feel like that problem is coming back.
I know people say it's all in your head and I believe that but how to change your thaughts?
What should I do?

What derives your weight obsession?

Friends?

Family?

Society?

The answer lays in you, and what you feel best at. If your self-image is influenced by something (or someone) outside of what you feel, then maybe that's the real issue.

You never said how old you are, so it's hard to determine in what stage your body development is in.

But suffice to say that no one but you, has the right to be critical of your weight issue. I would say that only if what you were doing was causing direct harm to you (binge/purge - extreme obesity), then someone who cares would have a right to bring it to your attention.

I would say that 5'3" and 118 lbs. is not severely overweight, but I will say that 5'3" and 72 lbs. might be a little on the light side.

To help cure your 'obsession', think more along the lines of how you feel, and not so much on the scale.

I have spent 12 years battling Anorexia and it goes strong and then it just lingers. What most of the world does not understand is that eating disorders are not about weight there is an underlying emotional problem. You are right it is in your head but that does not always solve the problem. It is a good thing you realize the situation but your best bet is to seek professional help. You are on good ground to get through it you may just need a little help.

You sound to me to be at a great weight for your height! As someone who was once very concerned with how I looked I can tell you that I got so many more compliments on my body once I gained some weight. I was 5'10 and 98 pounds and once I gained weight and got up to 130 I became curvy and sexy and that's when I really noticed. No one finds a pole sexy and no one wants to hug a stick. You need to become confident and theres no way to teach someone how to do that. If you feel you can't be confident with your body then you need to speak to a professional before this problem gets out of hand! You sound georgeous now so have faith in yourself!
