The best way to breath is through your nose and out through your mouth. Smell thr roses, blow out the candles is what the doctor told my grandma when she couldn't remember to breath properly.

The proper way is through the nose!
the alternative method is through the mouth meaning we have 2 system which to breath so I pray you have not breathed through your mouth sweetheart your tongue would simply dry out and that would be trouble- lol
so how lucky the race of humans are to have 2 functional system on which we receive the appropriate amount of oxygen the body needs to survive!

You can breathe through either your mouth or your nose. Your nose is preferable to breathe through, as it's better equipped to trap dust and bacteria as you breathe in and keep these potentially harmful things out of the lungs. Your nasal cavity is also where your olfactory (smell) sensors are, so it would seem that we're meant to at least breathe in through our noses.

they help us taste. scent is also tied to memory so maybe it helps us remember. I think its pretty helpful being able to smell, say you are sitting in your living room watching tv and you forgot the food burning in the oven. without a nose that could be potentially fatal
