If you can't avoid the ice cream in your freezer how do you avoid any fast food restaurants you drive by? How do you avoid not just buying ice cream yourself when you're at the store? It's your boyfriend's, right? Not yours. So think of it as something that's not yours that you don't have the right to take. Just like when there's nothing good to eat in the house, hopefully he doesn't go for your low-calorie snacks or meals in the freezer.

If you jointly own the house, then it is not reasonable. It's not his fault you are taking in too many calories because of his ice cream. You need to limit or restrain yourself from it.

But he obviously likes ice cream. Just execute more self control. My boyfriend and his roommate have so much crappy food in their house. I just avoid it. I can't tell them what to do.

if you're trying to watch your weight i'd hope he would be supportive.....but on the other hand you can't expect him to make sacrifices for you to stay on your diet......i think i would ask him, but it's totally up to him if he wants to do it or not.......maybe you guys could comprimise and keep lowfat frozen yogurt, or diet ice cream pops instead of regular ice cream.....

Yeah its unfair. Gain some self comtol, lol. I know how it can be though. Just control yourself. He should'nt have to NOT bring it in the house. Or maybe he may understand, doesnt hurt to try it!

YES!
It is not fair to you... and if he relly Loves you, then He should respect your feelings.
He can always have ice cream outside of the house.
PS
All of these people yapping about "self control" do lack self control in other aspects of their lives. This is your "albatross" and its up to you to deal with this issue in a way that will work for you. If that means "No Ice cream in the house?" then so be it

I don't see why it wouldn't be reasonable. Although it might be easier to try to not eat it all, but if it's pretty much impossible, it shouldn't be too much of a problem to keep it away.

No it's not. Relationships are about respecting what both people want. It would be reasonable to discuss it with him and explain why it's problem for you. Otherwise, develop some self restraint.

I think it would be reasonable for your boyfriend to ask you to get out of his house, and especially his freezer.
