I am a Christian. I teach my children God loves everyone and everything. What happened to my cousin on Friday sickens me--is this what you teach YOUR children to believe?
A little girl in his preschool has been bringing her Bible to school. She chooses to preach and tell everyone if they are going to heaven or hell. She has told him (who has FAS) that he will go to hell because he's ugly and retarded.
Are you teaching your kids to judge?
Are you teaching them that God is superficial?
As a Christian, I ask all parents who carry this faith to be careful when teaching your child what God says is right or wrong. Be careful in teaching your children to judge. I couldn't believe the ugly side of Christianity could rear it's head this early.
Finally: how do you think this could have been avoided?

My cousin is basically my son. He's lived with us for the past two years.

Where would a preschooler learn to do this? Her parents maybe? I think so. That's where we all learn our behavior.
I'm not mad at the little girl. I'm angry at her parents who have obviously, demonstrated her that it's okay to behave this way.

At that age they should only be taught that God is love and God loves them, and they should love Him and His Son Jesus.
Died for your sins is a little sophisticated for a pre-schooler.
If they have heard some of the other things from other kids, they should be taught that God is the judge and God is working in the lives of others to persuade them to be acceptable to Him.
They need to know that no one knows the ways of God other than the little that we can read from scripture.
God does not desire that anyone experiences hell, but that all receive eternal life.

I think that children repeat what they have heard. Where did this little angel hear this? A lot of Christians say one thing and do another, is it possible that is happening in her home? I am Christian and I do the best I can to walk the walk. I tell mine that people are people and sometimes we say or do something bad. When that happens we need to pray for forgiveness and then apologize to those we have wronged. Sadly I know many people who are adults and believe what he little girl had said.

No, I do not teach my children to be that way at all with anybody. I know kids can be cruel, but I do not want my children judging anybody for any reason, even when they themselves have been hurt by others. My kids love everybody regardless of race, religion or non religion, class. They have learned this from me and my husband, and it is not our place to judge anybody because we aren't the Judge, and we are no better than anyone else.
I am so sorry that happened to your son, that is so wrong.

Just remember this - ther eis no such thing as a Christian child. It is a child - of Christian parents. If you want to find fault here, it is with the religion as a whole.....I know you want to blame her parents for this, but who taught the parents to be judgemental and hypocritical? It is the RELIGION.

What kind of pre-school would allow a BIBLE to be brought in and read from??!?? Have you ever read one of those things? Child murder and rape, prostitution, torture, mass murder, stonings, beheadings, etc, etc, etc.
If I were you, I'd consider changing schools! Seriously!
