get a screw-driver and aheavy object, preferable a hammer, and hit the lid making lots of holes until the lid is free. worked for me. or go any buy one from a supermarket....thats usually easier and while you are there, buying a knife maybe a good plan.

I've done this in the past but really it would be so much easier to go and borrow one, or get one from an all night supermarket. You can cut yourself quite badly on a jagged edge from a tin if you are not careful.
I think i did it with a screwdriver and a hammer or something but its not recommended.
Could you eat something else - not in a can???

thats always been kinda like a joke in movies an such, like a bum would finally get food but it would be in a can lol. because unless your up for the fight of your life you really should buy a can opener, cans are made to be durable an they made a special tool just for such a seemingly simple task, but thats like anything else you need the right tools for the job

I've often through the years found myself without a can opener and have used a "church key" or beer can opener. Hold onto the can and go round the can and make contiguous punctures and voila! ...it's open. Be careful not to cut yourself!

OK...If you really can't get a can opener or borrow one, then use a hammer and a screwdriver and punch holes all around the edge of the lid until you can finally break it free.
