its because of the thrill that we are doing something daring b/c we know that we can't have them but we want them so bad

Because it's a challenge. Sometimes, women love a good challenge. We sometimes really don't want them, it's just the things we have to do in order to wear them down. We want to know what it takes to do that. We also like to know how weak a man really is.

Fear of commitment. If you are afraid of committing, then it's natural to protect yourself by choosing people that you know you can't have. Vunerability/Fear. If you're afraid of being vunerable and trusting someone else with your heart, you'll choose someone you know you can't have. Last but not least- wanting to be "the one" - the one that changes them. Fairy tales (especially on women) make people believe that "one true love" will change someone's behavior forever. Behavior is a result of upbringing and other conditions, not of who you are involved with, so no one can change anyone but themselves, but it's a nice notion.

Girl i have to the same problem. I think it is because we know we can't have them so it's kind of like a challenge.

If you mean falling for the opposite sex when they are already in a relationship, I think part of it in envy- not really wanting the person, but what it looks like the person has, companionship, love, blah blah, all that stuff.

I guess it is because we know we want them badly. I am a guy, and the girl I want badly is so far from me, yet she is the sole owner of my mind, body, heart and soul. She knows who she is!!
