Much of it is unconscious. Without even realizing it, we are programmed from a young age to seek a mate with certain traits. We don't know we are looking for them, but when we find them, our radars zero right in. It comes from significant relationships we have when we are young.

It explains why so many women whose fathers are alcoholics marry alcoholics. Or why being parented by a cold mother, leads a man to choose a cold wife. It can also be positive, where loving, normal parenting leads to a loving, normal love life.

Sally, hopefully the one we fall in love with (which is a bad expression) is the one that really turns us on. Woody Allen once said that "the love between 2 people is a beautiful thing. With 5 it's incredible!"

There are a lot of factors that go into making the "right" person. Similar views, humor, goals, likes, dislikes. Two people have to find each other attractive, and they say pharamones have something to do with it too. Finding someone who meets all of those criteria can be hard. But I think in a world of billions of people there is probably more than one person out there that each person could love. When we find a "right" person though....we usually hold on to them!

In finding love ,we always tried to find the one that are so much like us ,in so many different ways but we always ended up with someone so opposite, you set your standards and you fall in love, along the course of your relationship you constantly encountering some people that you like and start comparing them with your relationship , the fact that it's new you find this person more interesting ...evaluate yor feeling very well and don't fall into a heartache ,listen to yor heart

Our upbringing and family have a lot to do with it. I am attracted to people similar to those who had an impact on my life when I was growing up (friends not family).
Its alarming how many people choose spouses that remind them of a parent though.
It just boils down to the chemistry of love. Nobody really uinderstands it and science is better off leaving it alone

confident, in my center 20's. She replaced right into slightly older than me, divorced and intensely beautiful. regrettably, she needed greater desirable than i'd desire to grant and married a militia officer, went to stay out of the country, have been given divorced as quickly as back and is now unhappily residing in London. The fortunate element is that I met my latest spouse presently afterwards and we've been mutually for 35 years and that i'm happy my in the previous liaison went bitter.

I don't know but it really pisses me off. Maybe it's something that's supposed to make us stronger, but it just made me cry a lot because that person didn't fall in love with me!
