Realistically you shouldn't be pushing yourself to lose more than 1-3 pounds per month. I'm sure there are ways to get more than that but you'll put yourself at risk. Keep it safe and you'll feel much better about yourself.
Say 2 lbs per month X 8 months = 16 lbs

If you started an eating and exercise regimen on January 1st, you could lose 60-80 pounds SAFELY by the beginning of August. Using diet pills or fat burners may take the pounds off in the beginning, but you'll gain them all back -- with interest -- once you stop taking them. Also, diet plans that require you to cut out entire food groups or completely give up everything you love are doomed to fail in the long run. I lost over 20 pounds in 4 weeks and have successfully kept it off on The Abs Diet, and I would recommend it to anyone. You don't have to count calories, cook exotic meals with hard-to-come-by ingredients, or live on tofu and bean sprouts on this diet. Best of all, it's 100% safe, you get one "cheat meal" every week where you get to eat whatever you want, and IT WORKS!!! You can find the book at any major book store, and it's hard to miss -- the cover is bright orange.

Depending on your stature/body type and how much you weigh now will depend on this. Eating healthy, non-fatty, sugar, or highly startched foods will also aid in losing weight. Exercise is the main thing. You should work out AT LEAST 3 times a week. Not just aerobic, but cardio, weights, lengthening (pilates/yoga), also work out emotionally. Yoga helps a lot with centering your mind, body and spirit which will help w/ your weightloss.

As much as you want to. People lose 100 lbs. per month when they get their stomachs stapled. It just depends on your method and commitment.
