I use dvdshrink to copy my dvds. It has always worked until recently. It seems that all of the newer dvds have a new kind of encryption. Does anyone know of a solution? When I say newer dvds, i mean dvds that have released this year.

Could it be that they are the new Blue-ray or HD-DVD's? Because I know that they use some new security features, and a number of computer DVD drives cant even play the movie.

Since you have tried DVD shrink, I would recommend trying DVD decryptor (free) and Alcohol%120 (free trial). Both have worked well in the past for backing up software. I cannot link to the sites, due to legal liability, but you can find both easily by a google search.

I have allot more programs up my sleeve if those don't work. Feel free to send me an email.

firstly i wouldn't go advertising the fact that you copy dvds illegally
even though you didn't actually say it we know that's what you meant... secondly try FABDVD DECRYPTOR to remove the copy protection first, then run the now unencrypted file through shrink. ps: SONY disks are notorious for this(apparrently!!!!).......(so i heard).......... (somewhere??)
