Ours was fairly unusual i guess...
We are in the UK and went out into the Yorkshire Dales to 12th century castle ruins and the old Bard's house. It was a beautiful ceremony - very intimate as we only had 17 guests. Hubby wore a kilt and instead of the formal prince charlie stuff he wore the open neck ghillie shirt (black shirt with black watch tartan kilt) The whole thing was themed black and white (bridesmaids wore black dresses, best men wore white shirts) with celtic undertones. We also did it over 3 days which was the BEST decision in the world - we got married on the thursday, had friday to ourselves and then had a huge party back in our hometown on the saturday.Would do it over again in just the same way in a flash!!
What is important though is that it is special to you and your hubby to be. You will know when you have found the right place - like many things about the wedding it will just 'feel' right. Above all, enjoy it!! Good luck

We had a pirate wedding at the Ojai pirate faire (it's like a Renaissance faire, only pirate-themed). We're a part of a pirate re-enactment guild, and our guild has been participating in this faire for many years now. Our guild mistress was my "matron of honor"; our minister and the musicians were also recruited from amongst the guild members. We got married at our guild encampment, the "aisle" was lined with sword-brandishing pirates on both sides; the vows had to do with tending the ship that is our marriage, there was a mention of scurvy and the Davy Jones locker (instead of "till death do us part"). Afterwards, we headed to the lake shore and shot blackpowder cannons and flintlocks, before returning to camp for the night of rum and revelry. We had about 50 people from the guild in attendance, plus many more spectators and guests from nearby camps. It was a blast, I would do it again in a heartbeat! So much fun.

I was married in a helicopter over a volcano in Hawaii. Yes, I would do it again. The only others with us were the Maid of Honor, Best Man, and Minister. The Pilot too, but he was busy.

well i am having mine in a church but its gonna be a different one, first of all my brother and my mom is walking me down the aisle to give me a way, and then my sis is gonna stand beside me , and my brother and his bro is gonna stand beside him, in which we are all dressing casual, then reception is gonna be at the church, and my brother is gonna play the guitar, and sing for our first song, keeper of the stars by tracy byrd, there is more but that the basics of my unusually unusual wedding but i love it more than a big traditional wedding, i dont want that..means more it is from the heart no one elses idea but ours!

Ha ha we got married in the basement of a friends house. My mother had her hand wrapped around his throat and my brother had his gun in his rib cage. My uncle bust a fifth of rum up side his head 10mins before he said I do. It was about 20 people and after all the drama well I had the time of my life. Oh did I mention I was 6 months pregnant. Yes I would do it all over again. We've been married for over 25 years and he is still my best friend.
