about 2x a year, they make like a ***** diaper you can put on her, that might help if she doesn't eat it! or tear it up! good luck, some dogs bleed more than others, some are so little you don't even know they are cycling. The only other option is getting her fixed, that will stop it all together... but then no puppies for you! Best of luck!

all breeds differ and also all dogs within a particular breed such as a Labrador as stated.
she is most likely to come into season around 6 months - one year old.
most have a season before 0ne years but some are alittle longer or earlier. it is not an accurate science to predict when any female will come into season, only a guideline.
a season can last up to 3 - 4weeks. 3 weeks is average.
spaying is an option to stop a female dog coming into season, prevent female related cancers, pyometra, urinary problems, false pregnancy and also pregnancy,

Twice a year. It would be a good idea to keep her in a room with a wipeable floor or line the area she's in with newspapers. It may be adviseable to think about gettin her spayed, not only will this mean you wont have any more cleaning in the future, but it will prevent any unwanted litters and also some health problems.

Ok, she is a female and this happens to all female. I would consider getting her to the vet and spayed unless you are planning on breeding her. It will be better for her and for you. like the other emailer said, they have doggie pads and belts but being a puppy i think that is a total waste of money. Check with your local SPCA or animal shelter and see if they offer cut rates on this procedure. Good luck!

If the heat has been on for more than 15 days, take her to a vet for a vaccination that will stop her 'heat.' But remember she will become recluse after two months and display signs of psycho pregnancy.

if you dont plan to breed her its alot less hassle to get her spayed, cause if you arent home one night an she decides to sleep on the couch or bed its a disaster, i thought i was going to breed my english bull terrier before i found out she had allergys, i bought this diaper from petsmart it is made out of fabric an you easily put it on with velcro straps, you have to change the thing out with maxi pads though like a human lol. but its alot easyier then a paper diaper or some home contraption

Go to the pet store and get her some "pads" just like women wear.
Unless you plan to breed her, get her spayed after this heat.

As soon as she finishes her heat, take her and have her spayed. You won't have to mop up after her anymore and she will be a lot happier and healthier.

have you gotten any books on the dog you have. the first thing i did when i got our chow was to read all i could on the breed so i knew how to better take care of my dog. if you love your dog you will go and get some books and look on the Internet about your dog. then you will know what all you need to know about her. and you need to get her fixed and get her chipped.
