if he's not the best looking or coolest guy around? i mean he's not exactly ugly and he's quite clever and he really likes me! plus he's funny - in his own kinda way!!!

Who cares if other people think he's not popular or good looking. It matters what you think of him. and looks arent the most important thing. just make sure he isnt a big jerk

I got my first boyfriend when I was 16.
And to be honest, he wasn't the best looking or the coolest guy around but he was my first experience at a relationship. Somewhere after 2-3 months of dating, I lost interest in him but we're still good friends to this day. (I'm 19, now.)
Give it a try, just don't take things too fast or too serious right away.
I would also like to add that looks don't matter, or shouldn't matter whatsoever.
It's what inside that counts.
Most guys and girls who look good are shallow and treat their boyfriend/girlfriend like crap.

well congrats on ur first boyfriend first of all! second, no it does not matter that he isnt the hottest or the coolest. with my past experience, the kind of guy you have are often the better ones in the long run!! the hot cool ones typicaly kinda let it all get to their head and when they dont get what they want they throw fits and that is much more embarrassing than being with someone who is the "coolest." nobody wants to be with a pouty popular crybaby! best of luck!! :-)

A persons appearance is one thing out of many that can be attractive. How does he treat you and how does he make you feel? Are you comfortable around him? Does he make you laugh? Does he show an interest in your needs? Do your parents/guardians like him? You be the judge. No need to be confused. Go with the flow and learn from him (I am not talking about sex either). I am talking about his personality, his character, and his mannerisms. If he shows signs of posessiveness, agression, or jealousy (not the cute kind); DROP HIM QUICKLY! Otherwise, have fun together.

No, it doesn't matter...looks fade over time, but if you really like someone, the fact that he is funny and clever won't fade, but rather should continue to get even better. Society seems to place a lot of emphasis on looks, when the person inside is what truly matters. Period. Enjoy him for who he is, not what he owns, wears, or looks like.

no way. it totally does NOT matter. I'm dating a 16 year old guy, which is the youngest ive been with (i am currently 16) and he's not the most attractive of guys. He's tall, a little over weight, and has a small case of acne, and here i am, a working model, and ms. teen pagaenteer. He treats me well, and that is really all that matters in a relationship.

No of course not. Never judge a book by it's cover. If he treats you nice and is a great guy then what's the problem? Alot of the real cute guys can be real jerks. Don't let looks decide your relationships. This guy sounds really nice. My husband doesn't look like Brad Pitt but he treats me like a Queen.

It doesnt matter hun. Dont let anyone at school or anything persuade you otherwise. My ex was real good looking and all. He treated me like garbage. Abuse and all. I am now dating a guy who is way over weight and he treats me wonderfully, makes me laugh and takes good care of me. That is why I love him. I couldnt care less of what anyone says and no one has.

What standard should people be held to? The media? Every guy has to have a washboard stomach and be perfectly tan? No.
If you think he's good looking, has a good personality and makes you laugh...go for it!!
