Hydrogen Peroxide is a good way for cleaning cuts and abrasions but, can damage live skin surrounding the wound. So use it to clean a wound but do not soak in it.

It is good on cuts and abrasions. As far as it being damaging and not good....it could be due to allergic reactions that some people have (like me, hydrogen peroxide makes me break out)...or maybe it's in reference to it's level of toxicity if taken internally. If you're still hesitant about peroxide, then use rubbing alcohol or neosporin.

Hydrogen peroxide is good for abrasions. It helps to cleanse and purify as well as kill bacteria. It can be harmful if you use it excessively or in your mouth excessively. It is not true that it is damaging. Why would my doctor recommend that i use peroxide if it is damaging? he is a family friend so i trust him.

It is fine for small cuts and abrasions. It is not recomended for deep puncture wounds. It can delay healing and push any particales further into a deep puncture wound. Washing the wound out with water and using bactine is a much better choice. By keeping the wound moist with bactine for a few day will also give you less of a scar.

Hydrogen peroxide does kill the bad germs, but it also kills the good bacteria, which will delay healing time. I work in a hospital, and we use betadine to clean wounds. It's painless and does an even better job.

hydrogen peroxide has a great antiseptic and bleaching effect.it has many uses, depending on the concentration or volume.the ones for cuts and wounds are also used diluted with water as mouthwash or douche.its a very good mouthwash especially at night.the stronger ones are used for bleaching teeth and bleaching the hair, but should be by a professional!!

Peroxide is not good to put on cuts. It is very harsh, and it helps with the dead tissue, but also harms the healthy tissue. My mom used to use it all the time on my cuts, nothing really bad has ever happened to me. But i work at a vet clinic, and we NEVER use peroxide to clean cuts, we will use a sugical scrub. Since you don't have surgical scrub, try just using an antibacterial soap.

I've always believed it to be the best thing to put on cuts and abrasions, it cleans the wound and kills the germs on it.

I don't understand how it could be harmful?
