try to sleep little bit earlier in night. if this does not help its okay to study in night.
but 7 to 8 hours sleep in a day is very important to remain healthy.
if exams are very near you can make some reduction in sleep but not less than 6 hours.

perhaps you may not want to fight against your body's natural cycle. if you're really motivated & focused at night, then study at that time. it will be easier & you retain a lot when you study before sleeping. it kinda rolls around in your head all night long. so if you're putting in enough time at night, I wouldn't go crazy trying to study 24/7.

Put your loudest alarm clock as far away from you as possible so you have to physically get out of bed to shut it off.
As far as getting to sleep goes, try chamomile tea, meditation/relaxation, soft music, no coffee at least 8 hours before bedtime.
Hope that helps.

go to sleep earlier.
Maybe you can get a study partner, meet up somewhere to study- that way you'll feel guilty about having them wait around for you, and actually get up.
Set up a schedule to study and stick to it (i.e. - 9am - chapter 1, 10am - chapter 2, etc.)
all nighters work too =)
