I would tell him just that. You think of him as a best friend not a boy friend. You are doing the right thing by not leading him on or instilling false hope. It may seem like you are going to rip his heart out but he might be understanding you never really know until you try.

It is hard cause you dont want to hurt his feelings. Being he is your best friend just be honest. Say that you think it would be fun to go out (after you tell him) and say lets go out but we can go dutch. You can also say that you never know what the future holds and things could change in the future. You never know.

All in all. Let him know that you dont want to lose his friendship because it (and him) means the world to you.

Tell him you appreciate his interest, but you value his friendship so much that you don't want to risk damaging or ending it (and that often happens when friends try romantic relaitonships with each other)...

well jusy tell him how you feel... If he really cares about you enought to ask you out.. then i dont see why he shouldnt understand why you dont like him.. Tell him that u and his relationship isnt like a girflfriend-boyfriend relationship and that u just really deeply wanna be his friend

Tell him your flattered, but you just want to stay friends, because your friendship is important for you.
