Barely at all. Most of our forefathers did not believe in a personal god the way people do today. They were mostly deists who believe a god set everything in motion. There is no reason to trust or not trust a god like that.

Heard it all before, these are comments taken out of context. This is a religious country built on religious concepts (though we failed miserably with our treatment of the American Indian). This country still is run on religious concepts, division of church and state is only an ideal that will never exist.
