I have excellent credit, but I want to avoid using a cosigner and I need a student loan other than financial aid, which I already receive.

You should be able to increase your financial aid. Other than that , you probably have to have a cosigner.

If you are a student look at a pell grant or other grants. Student loans are the way to go as they aren't required to be repaid until you are finished with school
