i use to be really really thin and i had an amazing metabolism where i could gobble down anything and nothing happened. now i am 20 and reality has caught up with me. since i started college i started getting chubbier. Due to lack of nutritious food i would either starve (meaning get really hungry) and then when i'd eat i would OVEReat! i love drinking milk so i would drink a lot of full cream milk- then i switched over to non-fat milk which hopefully helped.
now i've realised that i've become SO conscious of my weight. i am so fussy and i have a tendency to over-eat even when i'm NOT hungry. i've started swimming to maintain my body and to stay fit but i'm very disappointed that i've lost my discipline when it comes to food. i see myself being able to eat anything and i've started to binge eat. also i keep thinking that everytime i eat, i will put on weight.
i seriously need some advice on how to handle this. please help!
thank you very much in advance!

It's okay to eat! We need to eat! It's all about choices, though. You can eat often, if you eat the right foods. Find the good foods you enjoy, keep them with you constantly, whole grain muffins, veggies cut up in a bag, apples, cheesesticks. Keep them with you so you can snack on these good foods all day and won't have a tendency to go without food, then binge on the foods that aren't good for you. Also, give yourself permission to eat the bad (yummy) stuff one day a week or something that works for you, so that you don't feel completely deprived of the foods you enjoy! Hang in there!

Stop thinking about food. Eat what you want, keeping in mind that health food is better. You will naturally eat when you are hungry and stop when you are full. If you keep exercising, you will be healthy. You might still gain a little weight, but you will be happy and healthy.

I know exactly how you feel. Just stop thinking about food in any way except to throw in a piece of fruit now and then and eat when you feel hungry.

i used to have this problem, well i thought i had this problem. i became anorexic and belimic. i used to excerise like crazy on top of my eationg dissorder and i develpoed hipoglycemia. i HAVE to eat every 3 hours!! i had to stop starving my self and throwing up. i got professional help. and then i got pregnant so i gained weight. i learned that u need to love your self. and dont depend on food for self gratification. food will not make you happy. instead of eating when your not hungry try chewing on a piece of SUGARLESS gum. eat ONLY when your hungry.eat a lot of veggies and fruits. instead of chips try an apple. its portable so u can eat it while your in class. good luck on the road to loving your self and excepting your self.

Hi, I really think you would need to refer to some professional help for this. Sounds like you are heading on a downward spiral and are losing control.

Do seek professional help as soon as possible, your life will be so much better.
