my ex left his son and me for someone eles ( we were having big problems) but we kept a relationship going on the side i have told him many times that i wanted to be left alone and he refused to do so. a week ago i got fed up i blocked his #'s in hope that he would relize that he actually lost me and that i would not be there to be a friend or support him like i always have. why is it that he is finally listening what i really wanted was for him to relize that he lost a good thing and maybe he would come back.

Perhaps he is listening now because he is forced to. Stay focussed on the important thing...he left you and his son for someone else. Why are you even asking questions about him? I thought you wanted nothing to do with him. I wish, so much, that women would stop playing games!!!!

I'm confused as to whether you truly want your ex gone or not. But to answer your initial question, he's listening now because he partly does realize he lost a good thing and partly because he wants the booty calls. Don't expect the relationship to turn around for the better and stay that way. His incentives may appear genuine but unless he suggests going to couple counseling or really shows you he wants to change, it'll be a short-lived situation and will most likely revert back to the big problems. Do you feel you're ready to take the next step away from him?

Because he wants to have his cake and eat it too. He's trying to sweet talk you into being with him while he's wooing this other girl. Sounds like a stupid situation all around and you need to get away from the entire thing. You did good by blocking his #'s and now you just need to stay strong until he takes the hint and stops calling.
