It just means more responsibility in the world (more commandments) and being a constant reminder to the rest of humanity of the existence of God (which a lot of people hate being reminded of, and therefore hate the Jews).

Almost all religious groups believe they are the chosen people. It's all hogwash. God loves all supposedly. Chosen is a rallying cry used to start wars

It simply means that G-d chose the Jewish people to keep all 613 commandments.

Nah, just playing.

Chosen people are the people that the particular god made and are supposed to worship it.

Other people worship other gods.

That's just my interpretation.
