Well, I think you are confused. Never have we worshiped the cross, it would be a sin to do so. We worship Jesus Christ. It is him that gave us the greatest of all gifts--Salvation and it is only through him that we recieve eternal life. So no matter how he had died we would never worship anything other than Him because it is what he did for us not how he died.

No. People stoned to death back in the first century AD were not given drugs until they OD'd lethally. They were hit with numerous rocks until their bodies were crushed in a lethal fashion.

So, if Jesus had been stoned to death, the symbol of His death would be a ROCK instead of a cross.
