I had a goiter when I was 12 and I believe they did a partial thyroidectomy. For the past eleven yrs. I've developed itcy skin on various parts of my body, PMS, heavier bleeding during periods, depression, fatigue and also diagnoised w/GERD and take aciphex. Mostly the itching has bothered me in the vaginal area. I went to a PMS clinic where they tested me (blood) and said my T3 level was low. What can I take for this condition? Or what does anyone w/these sort of symtoms recommend. I've been to many doctors and they seem to be experimenting on me rather than finding the root cause of this itching.

You have listed several non-related problems. If you had your thyroid or part of your thyroid removed, you need to see a family practice doctor and ask about having a TSH levle. It is a blood test that shows if your thyroid is produsing enough thyroxine. If it is not, you need to be on thyroid mediaction pills. This is a common thing, no big deal, easily managed. Your family practie doc should also be able to check out the vaginal itching, or refer yo if needed to an OB/GYN. The general dry, itchy skin could be related to your thyroid problem...ask the doc. Make a list, go to the doctor prepared to give your accurate medical history and ask all your questions. When you make the appointment, tell the office person you need a thorough physical so she will schedule you for enough time...so the doc will not be rushed. Instead of seeing different docs for each type of problem, see ONE...tell him/her everything and let him put the picture together. You may want to look for a female family practice doctor. I am a nurse and know many docs, but it is my observation that female family practice docs are more prone to take more time with you and be easier to tak with. Hope you do well.

Sorry there isn't a different healing. If you do not like your present healing and what some thing extra usual take a look at Armour thyroid. I've been on lab made meds and Armour i by means of a long way the fine to this point. Almost each and every hypothroid symptom is long gone As a long way as dietary supplements, you'll upload selenium, zinc, and l-tyrosine to support with the conversion of T4 into T3, however you continue to ought to take your thyroid med.
