Sounds like half the story I heard
"Life in Lubbock, Texas taught me two things. One is that God loves you and you're going to burn in hell. The other is that sex is the most awful, dirty thing on the face of the earth and you should save it for someone you love."

It sounds like a niave Christian maybe. Which sadly there are many. No where in the Bible does it say God loves unconditionally, thats a completely man made idea. The Bible says God loved Jacob and hated Esau. I think that proves its not a Biblical teaching. God/Jesus does have love for mankind, as do I, but that doesnt mean I love every individual unconditionally.

I have heard the statement in various forms.
Now, a Christian usually won't say it that matter-of-factly. I often hear this by reading between the lines. A typical conversation goes like this:
Me: Is there a limit to Jesus's love?
Xn: Jesus loves everyone, without condition.
Me: What happens if you don't love Jesus back?
Xn: If you do not accept Christ as your savior, then you are condemned to Hell when you die.
Me: Can such a person leave Hell?
Xn: Never.
Me: So, Jesus loves us unconditionally, but if we do not believe in him, then we go to Hell for all eternity.
Something along those lines. But it is funny to hear it stated that, "You'll learn that Jesus loves you when you are suffering because of his decision."
Often, logic can show the glaring errors of such religious beliefs.

It doesn't write like something a Christian said.
But it is a touph comment. I don't think anyone in hell feels loved, because they are separated from the love of God.
God does love us unconditionally, in that His Salvation plan is available to all of us. And it is Gods will that all will come to repentance and none should perish, that all would have everlasting life.
But sin does separate us from God and that would include the Love He wants to shower on us.
Jacob desired Gods blessings. Esau didn't think Gods blessings were important. So, God favors those who desire & seek God. God didn't hate Esau except that God favored Jacob. God still loved Esau unconditionally. I believe Esau is in heaven with the LORD also.

Ok first things first. Jesus does love you unconditionally because he died 2000 years ago on a cross to die for the world. this was the ultimate sacrifice. This part is true and is what a Christian would tell you yes, because i am one. We have been given a free will ever since we were created. Our ancestors disobeyed God and CHOSE their OWN way. (when they ate fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil) leaving us in dire straits so to speak. All it takes for us NOT to enter hell is believing in Jesus and that He died to save you from it. I hope no one has to go to hell to find out. ! It is written in the Bible that 'God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that whosoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.' It's so simple to be saved from going to hell. But if you go there as a result of refusing to believe KNOWING that its the right thing (being disobedient and foolish)- you wouldn't be able to know what is going on only eternal torture! Not good! So we must be right with God- our Saviour who loves us more than we can imagine!! Love Smyles xx

Say badferret! Why do you spend all your time bashing Christians? When I look at your question ask/answer history, thats all you do. May God have mercy on you for trying to destroy The Message that has The Power to rescue your soul. Take a look at your own writings and see just how very sad a state of mind that your in. I'll be praying for you whether you like it or not! PEACE!!!

Does not sound like something a "True" Christian would say! A true christian would know without a doubt that only God decides who goes to heaven or hell and God's ways are so far above our ways, who are we to presume how He judges others?

I guess this person is saying if you don't believe that Jesus loves you, then he won't and just send you to hell. I do not believe that to be true. God will allow things to happen in your life to show you how much he and Jesus love you.

I've been to hell and I read that Jesus went there too for a while. Seems to me you're trying to believe something is true without any proof.

God is a just God. If you sin, you can't get into heaven. Therefore, anyone who doesn't follow Christ and have forgiveness will suffer in hell. God does love you, that's why He sent Jesus to die for you, but you reject His love when you reject Jesus. That isn't God's problem, that's yours.
