It's pretty easy; you know that you're in the right path to be christian if:

you read the bible and believe that's inspired by God.
you believe that Jesus is son of God
that God transfer Jesus celestial life as spirit, to the Earth in a human body
Jesus bought with his life the humanity, rescuing it from the sin
That's the equivalent price by the perfect human life of Adam
Thus the debt is paid
You follow Jesus foot steps very carefully, like to put in practice the principles found in the Bible (to love God, to love Jesus, to love the fellow)
And how do you demostrate this?

Preaching in public sites and house by house at any given moment.

If you fail in some of these fundamental points, simply you're not christian, because you do not implement it, 'cause then you simply don't recognize that the task, examples and instructions by Jesus, come from their father who has commanded him to do exactly the way he did.

You must learn what does the Bible really teach.

True followers of Christ are called Christians.
Acts 26:28 ...King Agrippa said Almost thou persuadeth me to be a Christian...
1 Peter 4:16...If any man suffers as a Christian let him not be ashamed , but glorify God on this behalf.

So yes I am a Christian and I am not shamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth....

Jesus is my savior. I am a follower of Jesus Christ.

Christian = following the teachings of Jesus Christ and His Father.

We may be born into a Christian family and we are covered under our parents until the age of accountability...then we must choose to follow Jesus if we want to go to Heaven.

You can not earn entrance into Heaven. Salvation is a free gift for every. The living God has given us free will and it's your choice.

You can be religious all day long and not get into heaven. You must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

I am a new creation, the old is gone and the new has come. I live different; I act different. I have meaning and purpose. There is a love for God and others. There is a difference of the heart and a renewing of the mind. I see the world with different eyes.

If you have asked Jesus to forgive you for your sins and have asked him to be Lord of your life and have given your heart to him you are a Christian.

The Word says that if we call on his name and repent we are forgiven.

I believe in Baptism as a way of showing our faith publicly in Jesus Christ. I do not believe this saves you but I believe we are to do it because Jesus gave us Baptism as an example.

I also believe you begin to understand everything once you are saved and receive the Holy Spirit.

Though one may say or claim he/she is a Christian, deep down in their own hearts they themselves truly know if they are living up to the billing!

On the other hand, God knows your heart and He won't be fooled!

As I understand it, from the Bible, there are three witnesses: The inner witness of the Spirit, the witness of the word (Romans 10:9-13), and the witness of our lives (Is there evidence of good spiritual fruit?)

The same way that you know what your name is. No one has to tell you what your name is, no one has to tell you if the Holy Spirit lives in you. That is, after all, what makes you a Christian.

You know that you are a Chirstian when you have expected Jesus Chirst into your heart as your lord and Savior and have chosen to let him into your life and change you from your sinful nature to a new positive chirstian nature
