My cousin's wife is pregnant. Is it blasphemous for he and his wife to have a real-life re-enactment of the nativity scene on their front lawn when it is time for their baby to be born?

I mean, he's already hired the camels, and some wisemen, and rented the joseph and mary costumes, but he's worried it might be considered blasphemous to re-enact the nativity scene with his own child rather than the jesus. Should he go through with it?

IF you're serious, I'm sure there's a law on the books somewhere in their state that prohibits women from purposely giving birth in public. It also wouldn't be particularly healthy for mother or baby.

It's not blasphemous, it's a reinactment.

Everybody knows the baby isn't really Jesus, just a representation of Jesus - I don't think it's a big deal with everyone having that basic understanding. It sounds like it will be lovely.

I wouldn't just for the health reasons i.e. have a baby on your front lawn?!?!?

Considering hundreds of churches have living Nativity scenes, I highly doubt that it can be considered blasphemous.

Yes, because where are you going to find jesus this time of year??

Just kidding, there is nothing blasphemous about it, most people use a live baby anyway, or a baby doll to represent Jesus..so go for it.

Well, I wouldn't, but it is because I'm thinking about the baby and it's well-being in a cold manger outdoors for a period of time, if the weather is cold or wet. The baby may be hungry and need changing, too.

It's been done before. Just remember to keep the star and the magi on the "Matthew" side with Joseph, and the shepherds and angels on the "Luke" side with Mary. And keep the baby warm!

The stables of that day were usually caves, some even with living quarters in them. Can you provide this? If not-the kid might freeze, depending on where you live.

actually, jesus is born in a cave, so it's not blasphemous to give a birth on a lawn.
