in the final speech made by kofi anann today, he asked the u.s to respect human rights and mentioned that democracy of other countires should not be interfered with by the americans. What do people think about this as it's a direct statement at george bush?

Respect human rights, huh? America does more than RESPECT human rights. We defend them. If you call what Saddam was giving the Iraqis "rights," then you ought to move to one of those countries under similar dictatorships for a while.

I agree that America does not need to police the world, especially when we have so many issues that need attention here at home. And although I didn't agree with the way we went into Iraq, I think we've definitely helped liberate the people there from oppression. Even if we can't figure out how to finish it off and clear out.

It probably was a statement to Bush, but then again, who doesn't have at least one negative thing to say about Bush?

I think that there are alot more countries Kofi should be reproving in Africa alone before he points his finger at the US. The USA does alot of good things for people around the world.

The Democrats started a Bush bash and look where it's gone. Now people don't see Bush as the bad guy but the entire USA. Let's have a round of applause for Al Gore and Howard Dean!

Annan is worthless and he should keep his mouth shut. He alone is responsible for thousands of deaths in Somalia, sudan, Rwanda and the former Yugoslavia. His inaction to difuse the blatant human rights violations (pretty much ethnic cleansing) led to mass bloodshed. He is incapable of running a lemonade stand let alone the UN.

Who cares what Anann says. He is on his way out. He is also the reason why the UN is so weak today. Hopefully his replacement will have a pair. LOL you will side with anyone who bashes the US won't you. Like your other IDs?

The UN is socialist. What they say should be ignored, like "W" did when he invaded Iraq. Kofi Anan is insignificant.

The US Democrat party is also socialist. They too should be ignored, not elected.
